Planned power outages will continue in parts of Phnom Penh and surrounding areas through Oct. 16 due to maintenance work. Utility provider Electricite du Cambodge has announced outages on the following days:
08:00-13:00 Oct. 13: Boeng Keng Kang District
08:00-16:00 Oct. 13: Chbar Ampov, Mean Chey, Pou Senchey, and Sen Sok districts
08:00-13:00 Oct. 14: Seven Makara and Russey Keo districts and Takhmao City, Kandal Province
08:00-16:00 Oct. 14: Chamkar Mon, Chbar Ampov, Kamboul, Pou Senchey, and Sen Sok districts
08:00-13:00 Oct. 15: Pou Senchey and Prek Pnov districts
08:00-16:00 Oct. 15: Doun Penh and Sen Sok districts and Takhmao City, Kandal Province
08:00-16:00 Oct. 16: Seven Makara, Sen Sok, and Pou Senchey districts and Takhmao City, Kandal Province.
Disruptions to business and telecommunications, including cellular and mobile services, may occur. Transport disruptions are likely in areas with malfunctioning traffic signals. Power outages could result in the temporary unavailability of essential services, such as ATMs and gas stations. Blackouts could adversely affect security protocols, including alarm systems and electronic fences; opportunistic criminal activity could increase during electricity outages.
