Iran: Gunmen open fire at a shrine in Shiraz, Oct. 26

Police are responding to an armed attack at the Shahcheragh Holy Shrine in Shiraz, Oct. 26. Three gunmen opened fire on worshippers at approximately 17:45 killing 15 people and wounding 10 others. Police did not immediately provide a motive for the incident but have described it as a terrorist attack. The police have detained two of the gunmen, while the third one remains at large.

Localized transport disruptions are likely as police investigate the attack. Public transport diversions are possible. Some nearby businesses may also close due to increased security measures.
