Climate activists from Extinction Rebellion (XR) plan a demonstration in The Hague, at 12:00 on Oct. 15, to denounce subsidies paid to the fossil fuel industry. The event plans to block the A12 motorway where on one side is the temporary building of the House of Representatives, and on the other side, is the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate. It is not known how many will attend or how long the demonstration will continue.

Police will likely deploy to facilitate and monitor the event. Temporary road closures and diversions are likely. Scuffles between police and protestors cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the protest as a routine security procedure. Follow local travel and security advice. Allow extra time for travel in The Hague Oct. 15. In the event of violence, withdraw from the area immediately.
