A magnitude-5.1 earthquake occurred in the Philippine Sea off the eastern coast of Mindanao, Philippines at 21:20 PST Oct. 25. The epicenter was about 164 km (101 miles) northeast of Davao City. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 76 km (47 miles), and light shaking was probably felt throughout central and western Mindanao. There have been no initial reports of damage or casualties as a result of the earthquake, and significant damage is unlikely in Davao City, Cagayan de Oro, and Surigao City.
