Planned power outages will continue in parts of Phnom Penh and surrounding areas through Nov. 6 due to maintenance work. Utility provider Electricite du Cambodge has announced outages on the following days:
08:00-16:00 Nov. 4: Parts of Chamkar Mon, Dangkao, Kamboul, Pou Senchey, Russey Keo, and Sen Sok districts.
08:00-13:00 Nov. 5: Parts of Chroy Changvar District and Takhmao City, Kandal Province.
08:00-16:00 Nov. 5: Parts of Chbar Ampov, Kamboul, Pou Senchey, and Sen Sok districts.
08:00-13:00 Nov. 6: Parts of Kamboul District and Angk Snuol District, Kandal Province.
Disruptions to business and telecommunications, including cellular and mobile services, may occur. Transport disruptions are possible in areas with malfunctioning traffic signals. Power outages could result in the temporary unavailability of essential services, such as ATMs and gas stations. Blackouts could adversely affect security protocols, including alarm systems and electronic fences; opportunistic criminal activity could increase during electricity outages.
