Authorities in Ontario closed parts of Highways 401 and 402 between London and southwestern parts of Ontario Dec. 23 following numerous crashes due to hazardous weather conditions. Ontario Provincial Police informed the closure along Highway 401 is between London and Tilbury, and along Highway 402 between London and Sarnia, on the border with Michigan, US.

Officials have reported numerous accidents in the area, involving more than 100 vehicles due to heavy snow, strong winds, and low visibility. Significant transport disruptions in southwestern Ontario are likely through at least Dec. 24.
