Taxi drivers launched protests in several locations in and around Bucaramanga, early Dec. 1, to demand several policies, including limiting the use of private vehicles on certain days of the week and improved security. Demonstrators have stopped their vehicles, or are driving slowly, on the Floridablanca highway, the Piedecuesta-Bucaramanga highway, and the Canaveral-Bucaramanga highway.

Significant transport and business disruptions are likely throughout the city over the coming hours. Heightened security is possible. Protests in other locations are possible.
