US: Unionized teachers to rally in several locations in Los Angeles, California Dec. 5

Unionized teachers, affiliated with the United Teachers Los Angeles (UTLA) union, plan to hold rallies in at least three locations in Los Angeles, California Dec. 5 to demand higher investments in public schools in order to reduce class sizes and increase the number of librarians and psychologists.

Activists intend to rally at three locations, starting at 16:00:

• Los Angeles United School District (LAUSD) Headquarters along Beaudry Avenue

• Mas Fukai Park in Gardena

• LAUSD Local District Northwest Headquarters in Lake Balboa, Los Angeles

Hundreds are likely to participate in each of the rallies, with associated transport disruptions. Heightened security near the protests is likely.
