A police investigation into the death of a British national in the Mike Town area of Mandeville, St. James Parish, is ongoing as of Jan. 20. Reports indicate an assailant a ambushed and shot the victim in his house at around 00:20 Jan. 19; the individual later died of his wounds. The motive for the attack remains unclear. Police have not indicated if they have arrested the suspect.

Mike Town is approximately 76 km (47 miles) west of Kingston.
