Localized transport disruptions likely in Manila, Philippines, Jan. 21-Feb. 21 due to road maintenance work. Increased congestion likely.

Informational

Event

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has announced that road maintenance work will likely cause localized transport disruptions in parts of Metro Manila Jan. 21-Feb. 21. Affected locations include the Ortigas Avenue and Pasig Boulevard routes toward Circumferential Road 5 (C5). Transportation authorities have advised motorists with wider vehicles to use service roads as alternative routes 22:00-05:00 nightly.

Lingering disruptions may occur after the maintenance period concludes. Nearby roads will likely experience increased traffic congestion; demand for alternative means of transport will probably be higher. Shipping delays are possible along the affected roadways through at least Feb. 21.

Advice

Consider using alternative transport for time-sensitive travel during the announced maintenance period. Allow extra time to reach destinations due to increased traffic congestion and demand for alternative transportation.
