Ukrainian officials have reported Russian missile strikes in multiple urban centers Jan. 14. Infrastructure facilities in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Lviv have been struck, while air raid sirens and explosions have been reported in Mykolaiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Nikopol, Dnipro, and the Vynnytsa Region, among others. A residential building has been damaged by a missile in Dnipro, with people believed to be trapped in the rubble. Air raid sirens are ongoing at locations nationwide; further strikes are likely. Emergency power outages are in place across 11 regions of the country following the strikes.
Air strikes typically target energy and infrastructure facilities; further electricity and water supply interruptions are likely. Heightened security will be deployed, and travel and business disruptions are likely to continue.
