Planned power outages will continue in parts of Phnom Penh and surrounding areas through Feb. 19 due to maintenance work. Utility provider Electricite du Cambodge has announced outages on the following days:
Feb. 17: Outages will occur in Kamboul, Pou Senchey, and Tuol Kork districts 08:00-13:00. Electricity disruptions are also scheduled in the Dangkor, Mean Chey, Pou Senchey, and Sen Sok districts 08:00-16:00.
Feb. 18: Electricity disruptions are planned in Kamboul District 08:00-13:00. Additional scheduled outages will occur in the Chbar Ampov and Sen Sok districts of Phnom Penh, as well as in Ta Khmau, Kandal Province, 08:00-16:00.
Feb. 19: Electricity disruptions are scheduled to occur in Chroy Changvar, Prek Pnov, and Sen Sok districts 08:00-16:00.
Disruptions to business and telecommunications, including cellular and mobile services, may occur. Transport disruptions are likely in areas with malfunctioning traffic signals. Power outages could result in the temporary unavailability of essential services, such as ATMs and gas stations. Blackouts could adversely affect security protocols, including alarm systems and electronic fences; opportunistic criminal activity could increase during electricity outages.

Charge all communication and portable electronic devices when possible. Unplug electronic equipment that is not connected to surge protectors. Exercise caution when driving in areas affected by power outages. Confirm business appointments. Verify that security systems are operational, including after power is restored. Ensure that generators are functional and fully fueled.
