Security forces in Mogadishu reportedly clashed near Sinay Junction on late Feb. 27. Preliminary reports indicate the clash occurred between the Somali Police Force and the Yaqshid District Commissioner's armed guards. The exchange of gunfire reportedly killed at least seven people and injured the commissioner; casualty figures could rise in the coming hours. The motive for the incident is not immediately apparent. 

Heightened security and localized disruptions are likely in the impacted area in the short term. Road closures could be enforced at short notice. Additional clashes cannot be ruled out.
