Multiple explosions were reported in Mogadishu on Sept. 28. Initial reports indicate that a roadside bomb exploded behind the Government Women's Centre, near the National Theatre, the Presidential Palace, and the Parliament. Preliminary reports indicate that at least three individuals have been killed and several others injured. There have been no claims of responsibility; however, the al-Shabaab militant group regularly claims responsibility for such attacks.

Authorities will likely maintain heightened security measures in the area in the coming hours. Localized transport disruptions will probably affect areas subject to increased security. Business disruptions may also impact areas affected by heightened security and transport disruptions.
