Increased security is likely in the Karaan District of Mogadishu after an explosion in the district's Jamhuriya area early Oct. 26. The cause of the blast is thought to be an explosive device. The blast killed several people. This is at least the second explosion in the past 24 hours following a landmine exploded possibly targeting a military vehicle in the Hoosh neighborhood of Mogadishu’s Dharkenley District late Oct. 25.
Heightened security is likely in the area. Localized travel disruptions are possible. Further bombings cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the vicinity of the blast until authorities give the all-clear. Heed instructions from authorities.
