As of late March 22, the discovery of an unexploded WWII-era bomb in Langenhagen is prompting disruptions and evacuations. The device was discovered during construction work on Am Pferdemarkt Street. Authorities have set up a 1,000-meter (0.6 miles) security perimeter, and approximately 2,500 residents have been evacuated to facilitate the disposal operation.

It is not clear how long the disposal operations will last. Lingering disruptions are likely as officials conclude operations and traffic returns to normal.
