Students of Wits University in Johannesburg have embarked on a shutdown of the campus over tuition fees, Mach 1. They are reportedly demanding, amongst other issues, that indebted students may be allowed to register. University administration has advised non-protesting staff and students to avoid entering through Yale Road North (Empire Road).
