Authorities confirmed that at least two people died following an explosion and fire at the R.M. Palmer Company candy factory on South 2nd Avenue in West Reading, Pennsylvania, March 24. At least eight people also suffered injuries, and another nine are suspected missing. The blast destroyed one of the buildings and damaged another. Officials said there is no further danger to the surrounding area but are advising residents to avoid the area. An investigation into the cause of the blast is ongoing.
