Nepal: Taxi drivers' strike affecting the Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) area in Kathmandu, April 4

Unionized taxi drivers serving Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) have begun a strike the morning of April 4. Participants are denouncing a parking fee hike. It is unclear when the action will end; taxi services in other parts of the city are unaffected. Commuters are likely to seek alternative means of transport to and from KTM, leading to traffic congestion and possible shortages. Organizers may call off the strike at short notice if negotiations with officials succeed. Although flight disruptions are unlikely, ground travel delays are probable.
