An explosion injured at least four people at a bus terminal in Isulan Municipality, Sultan Kudarat Province, at around 12:00 April 17. The blast reportedly took place inside the lower deck of the bus as it was alighting and boarding passengers at the terminal. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident. An investigation into the explosion is ongoing.

Explosions targeting civilians are rare in the Philippines, including in Mindanao. While no group has claimed responsibility for the incident, the Islamic State-affiliated Jihadi militant group Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) and the communist armed wing New People's Army (NPA) are known to be active and have staged bombings in Mindanao.
