Portugal: Activists to stage "Right to Health" march in Coimbra, Lisbon, and Porto May 20

Various organizations, including the National Federation of Unions of Workers in Public and Social Functions (FNSTPS), the General Confederation of the Portuguese Workers (CGTP), the Movement of Users of Public Services (MUSP), the Unions of Nurses of Portugal (SEP), National Union of Local and Regional Administration Workers (STAL), and Senior Health Technicians in the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Areas (STSS), plan to stage the "Right to Health" march in several cities on May 20. The purpose of the action includes demanding the improvement of the National Health Service (SNS) and the working conditions of medical professionals in the SNS, among various issues. The following actions are planned:
Coimbra: March at 11:00 from Fernao de Magalhaes Health Center.
Lisbon: March at 15:00 from Campo Pequeno.
Porto: March at 15:00 from Sao Joao Hospital.
The amount of participants the events may draw remains unclear, but large crowds are likely to attend. The exact march routes have not been announced. Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely. The marches are likely to be peaceful, but isolated scuffles between participants and police cannot be ruled out.
