Planned power outages will continue in parts of Phnom Penh and Kandal Province through June 25 due to maintenance work. Utility provider Electricite du Cambodge has announced that electricity disruptions will occur on the following days:

  • June 23: Outages will occur in Chamkar Mon, Chroy Changvar, and Tuol Kork districts 08:00-13:00. Additional electricity disruptions are scheduled to occur in the Boeng Keng Kang, Dangkao, Pou Senchey, Prek Pnov, Sen Sok, and Tuol Kork districts 08:00-16:00.

  • June 24: Scheduled electricity disruptions will occur in Chbar Ampov, Chroy Changvar, Prek Pnov, and Russey Keo districts 08:00-13:00. Further planned disruptions will take place in the Dangkao, Kamboul, and Sen Sok districts of Phnom Penh, as well as Ta Khmau, Kandal Province, 08:00-16:00

  • June 25: Planned outages are slated to take place in Chamkar Mon, Dangkao, Kamboul, Mean Chey, Pou Senchey, and Tuol Kork districts during an unspecified time.

Disruptions to business and telecommunications, including cellular and mobile services, may occur. Transport disruptions are likely in areas with malfunctioning traffic signals. Power outages could result in the temporary unavailability of essential services, such as ATMs and gas stations. Blackouts could adversely affect security protocols, including alarm systems and electronic fences; opportunistic criminal activity could increase during electricity outages.

Charge all communication and portable electronic devices when possible. Unplug electronic equipment that is not connected to surge protectors.
