Cambodia: Planned power outages to affect parts of Phnom Penh through Oct. 13
Power outages to occur in parts of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, through Oct. 13 due to repair works. Related disruptions possible.
Due to maintenance work, planned power outages will occur in parts of Phnom Penh through Oct. 13. Utility provider Electricite du Cambodge (EDC) has announced the following details:
Oct. 11: Planned outages will occur in parts of Pou Senchey District 08:00-13:00, as well as Chbar Ampov, Mean Chey, and Sen Sok districts 08:00-16:00.
Oct. 12: Scheduled disruptions will take place in parts of Pou Senchey, Prek Pnov, and Sen Sok districts 08:00-16:00.
Oct. 13: Outages to occur in parts of Chbar Ampov 08:00-16:00.
Additional disruptions could occur in the affected areas outside the allocated hours due to potential operational challenges. Some surrounding regions could also experience similar outages. Transport disruptions are likely in areas with malfunctioning traffic signals. Disruptions to business and telecommunications, including cellular and mobile services, may occur. Power outages could result in the temporary unavailability of essential services, such as ATMs and gas stations. Blackouts could adversely affect security protocols, including alarm systems and electronic fences; opportunistic criminal activity could increase during electricity outages.
Charge all communication and portable electronic devices when possible. Unplug electronic equipment that is not connected to surge protectors. Exercise caution when driving in areas affected by power outages. Confirm business appointments. Verify that security systems are operational, including after power is restored. Ensure that generators are functional and fully fueled.
