Authorities plan to defuse a WWII-era bomb in Schreventeich in Kiel from 16:00 June 27. Crews discovered the 250-kg bomb during construction work at the Friedrich-Junge-School on Langenbeckstrasse. Authorities have advised those in the affected area to evacuate by 16:00 June 27; the evacuation will affect about 3,000 residents and 2,000 households. Officials have yet to provide an estimate as to how long the defusal operation will last. The Kathe-Kollwitz-School cafeteria will be available as accommodation for evacuees from 15:00 the same day.

Road closures will occur in the vicinity during the operation, resulting in localized transport disruptions. Authorities will impose traffic restrictions on federal highway B 76, with changes to the public transport schedule likely.
