Mexico: Two foreign nationals injured in shooting in Metepec, Mexico State, June 26

Event

Two Korean nationals are in critical condition after they were shot in Metepec, Mexico State, on June 26. Reports indicate that the incident occurred at around 14:15. The victims were reportedly traveling by car from Mexico City to attend a business meeting in the San Carlos estate but were shot within the Fuentes de San Gabriel estate. Authorities have yet to apprehend the assailants and have as yet made no statement concerning a possible motive for the attack.

Metepec is approximately 60 km (37 miles) southwest of Mexico City and 8 km (5 miles southeast of Toluca.
