Informational

Event

The "Serbia Against Violence" (Srbija protiv nasilja) organization will protest in Belgrade from 18:00 on June 3 to denounce two recent mass shootings in Serbia. Participants will gather in front of the National Assembly before marching along a circuit in the city center. The route will follow King Alexander Boulevard, Belgrade Street, Slavija roundabout, King Milan Street, Terazije, and to Nikola Pasic Square and Pioneer Park. The rally is expected to end at 21:00. This will be the fifth demonstration in recent weeks to demand a stop to the promotion of violence in Serbian media, and the resignation of the government ministers involved in the country's security.

The event will likely attract several thousand people; law enforcement will almost certainly deploy to monitor the event. Clashes between demonstrators and police cannot be ruled out. Transport disruptions are likely near the demonstration.

Advice

Avoid the demonstration as a routine security precaution and to mitigate the personal impact of any associated disruptions. Heed instructions from security services and leave the area at the first sign of a confrontation. Allow extra time for travel in the area on the evening of June 3.
