Spain: Unionized Iberia Regional Air Nostrum pilots to strike indefinitely nationwide from June 6

Iberia Regional Air Nostrum pilots to strike daily prompting flight disruptions in Spain from June 6; reconfirm bookings.

Warning

Event

Iberia Regional Air Nostrum (YW) pilots represented by the Sindacato de Pilotos de Espana (SEPLA) plan to strike nationwide for an indefinite period from June 6. The union is demanding increased pay for Air Nostrum pilots. The industrial action has been ongoing every Monday and Friday since Feb. 27. However, following a recent court ruling on minimum service levels to be provided by the airline, that found in the labor union's favor, the strike will escalate to a daily occurrence.

The action will likely cause disruptions to YW-operated flights. Disruptions are likely to persist through the negotiating period between SEPLA and YW management.

Advice

Confirm flights if booked to travel with Iberia Regional Air Nostrum. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Allow extra time for checking in at affected airports.
