Recovery operations are ongoing in Matador, Motley County, Texas, as of early June 22 after a tornado struck the town. The twister touched down in town at around 20:08 June 21, causing widespread damage to homes, trees, and power lines. As of early June 22, authorities have confirmed at least three fatalities, and more than 12 buildings have been damaged as a result of the destruction caused by the tornado. Search and rescue operations are underway for people who might have been injured or trapped by debris. Power outages are ongoing across the town. Response operations are ongoing; disruptions to ground travel and business operations will likely persist for at least several days.
