Flight disruptions likely in parts of the US Northeast due to severe weather June 27.

Flight delays and cancellations are likely at airports in parts of the northeastern US well into the evening of June 27 due to severe weather. Thunderstorms prompted the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to issue ground stops at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) on June 27. The ground stops are in effect until at least 18:30 at EWR and LGA, and at least 20:00 at JFK. At PHL, the measure will remain in effect until at least 18:00. Delays and cancellations are also likely at Logan International Airport (BOS) in Boston. The air traffic control measures could be extended or rescinded on short notice.

The FAA may issue additional weather-related ground delay programs and/or ground stops for airports in the northeastern states through at least late June 27.
