Activists from the Broad Front of Popular Struggle (Frente Amplio de Lucha Popular, FALPO) have announced a 48-hour strike in Salcedo, Hermanas Mirabal Province, July 4-5. The purpose of the work stoppage is to demand that the local authorities take action on uncompleted infrastructure projects. Although no demonstrations have officially been confirmed, strike-related protests are possible throughout Salcedo.
