US: Police continuing response to shooting incident at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital in central Portland, Ore., July 22 /update 1

Police are continuing their response to a shooting incident that took place at the Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital in central Portland, Oregon, July 22. The shooting occurred at about 11:30 and resulted in at least two persons being injured; there have as yet been no reports of fatalities.

According to the Portland Police Bureau, the suspected gunman has left the hospital and officers are conducting a search to apprehend him; the facility remains on lockdown. The Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) have deployed to the area. All traffic is blocked between NW 23rd and NW 21st avenues, and NW Northrup to NW Lovejoy Street.
