US: Sumner Tunnel in Boston, Massachusetts to remain closed through Aug. 31 due to repair work
Authorities close Sumner Tunnel in Boston, Mass., US, through Aug. 31, due to planned repairs. Plan for alternative routes.
Event
Authorities have closed the Sumner Tunnel, connecting East Boston and the North End, in Boston, Massachusetts, until at least Aug. 31, due to planned structural repairs. Additional closures are scheduled for weekends between September-November.
The tunnel is one of the main routes to access Logan International Airport (BOS). During its closure, authorities suggest travelers use the Callahan Tunnel and the Ted Williams Tunnel to go to and from BOS and East Boston.
