Activists plan to demonstrate in Dusseldorf's Johannes-Rau-Platz and Apollowiese from 15:00-18:00 Aug. 26. The purpose of the protest is to call for an end to military support for Ukraine and commencement of negotiations to end the war. Bundestag and Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe member Andrey Hunko will be the main speaker at the event. It is unclear how many participants may attend.

Heightened security and transport disruptions are likely in the vicinity of the demonstration. Although the event will probably remain peaceful, isolated skirmishes cannot be ruled out.
