Transport disruptions are occurring in parts of central Liverpool during the early evening of Aug. 25 as authorities respond to a bus fire on Lime Street. Emergency crews remain at the scene and several road closures are in place in the vicinity of the Lime Street Railway Station. It is unclear if the incident caused any casualties. Local bus operator Arriva North West announced the following service changes:

  • Buses 7 and 79 will terminate and restart at Brownlow Street.

  • Buses 75, 86, and 86A will use Berry Street and Duke Street to Liverpool One.

  • Bus 82 will use Park Lane in both directions.

Transport disruptions and heightened security may linger for several hours after the fire is extinguished. Heavy smoke is possible in parts of central Liverpool.
