Hungary: Students and teachers to march in central Budapest Sept. 15 to call for education reforms
Education activists to march in central Budapest, Hungary, from 16:30 Sept. 15. Heightened security, localized transport disruptions likely.
Event
Education activists plan to conduct a protest march in central Budapest on Sept. 15. The purpose of the action is to call for educational reforms. Participants will gather at Elvis Presley Park at 16:30 before marching to Kossuth Lajos Square for a rally; demonstrators will subsequently continue to the intersection of Alagut and Attila streets. Activists may attempt to disrupt traffic on Margaret Bridge (Marget Hid) and Szechenyi Chain Bridge (Lanchid) to draw attention to their cause.
Heightened security and localized transportation disruptions are likely along the march route and may linger for several hours after the end of the event. Though unlikely, skirmishes between demonstrators and frustrated motorists cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling in central Budapest. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
