Warning

Event

Feminist activists from various organizations plan to demonstrate in multiple cities nationwide on Sept. 28. The purpose of the action is to show support for abortion rights. Turnout will likely be largest in Mexico City and other urban centers; up to a few thousand individuals could attend the demonstrations. Gatherings that organizers have so far confirmed are listed as follows:

  • Mexico City: Glorieta de las Mujeres Que Luchan at 14:00.

  • Mexicali: March at 17:30 from Plaza de los Tres Poderes to Monumento Vicente Guerrero "El Caballito."

  • Puebla: Parque Benito Juarez and Ciudad Universitaria at 16:00; Puebla State Congress at 15:00.

  • Queretaro City: Alameda Hidalgo at 16:00.

  • Villahermosa: March at 15:30 from Parque Juarez to Plaza de Armas.

Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely near rally sites. Clashes between police and protesters cannot be ruled out, particularly if demonstrators are overly disruptive or ignore police orders to disperse.

Advice

Avoid the protests as a precaution. Allow additional time to reach destinations if operating near impacted areas. Seek alternate routes to circumvent any related transport disruptions. Leave the area at the sign of any security disturbances that may materialize. Heed the instructions of authorities.
