Authorities plan to conduct a WWII ordnance disposal operation in eastern Zielona Gora from 07:00-13:00 Sept. 26. The unexploded ordnance was discovered near the intersection of Dzika and Stanislawa Wyspanskiego streets. Officials have announced a mandatory evacuation zone for residents near the bomb site from 07:30. The exact size of the evacuation area is not immediately apparent. However, they include Sportowa, Klementowskich, Zamenhofa 3-7, 13-19, 21-25, 40-46, 32-38, Czubińskiego, Zakręt, Dolna, Dolina Zielona, Wazów, Bem, Wyspiańskiego, Szafrana do Wazów, Dzika, and Frog Streets.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely until the operation is complete. Disruptions will intensify during the evacuation period and may continue for several hours after disposal technicians complete their work.
