Authorities are conducting a WWII bomb disposal operation near Richterstrasse in Bodelschwingh, Dortmund, Oct. 19. An evacuation area with a radius of 250 meters (820 feet) is being implemented from 15:30 around the site of the unexploded ordnance; as a result, the A45 highway will be closed from 17:00 between the A42 and Mallinckrodstrasse intersections. Additionally, at least 650 residents are vacating the area due to the evacuation order. It is unclear how long the operation may take.

Delays on the A45 may linger for several hours after the operation is completed. Heightened security and transport disruptions are likely near the operation site through the evening.
