The largest demonstrations will likely occur in urban centers such as Colombo, Kandy, and Negombo. Additional possible protest sites include government buildings, prominent roadways, and monuments. Dozens to hundreds of people may participate in each protest.
Authorities used tear gas and water cannons to disperse a related gathering outside the Ministry of Education in Colombo Oct. 24.
