China: Taxi drivers call off strike planned in Hong Kong Nov. 22 /update 1

Taxi drivers from 17 taxi driver associations have called off a strike in Hong Kong initially planned for 11:00-14:00 Nov. 22. The purpose of the work stoppage was to denounce alleged government inaction on illegal ride-hailing services and a proposed demerit point scheme for taxis. Organizers agreed to cease the action following successful negotiations with officials.
