France: Flight disruptions likely at airports nationwide Nov. 19-21 due to air traffic controller strike
Flight disruptions likely at airports in France Nov. 19-21 due to air traffic controller strike.
Flight disruptions are likely at airports across France during an air traffic controller (ATC) strike scheduled to take place 18:00 Nov. 19-06:00 Nov. 21. Members of the Confederation of Civil Aviation Unions (USAC-CGT) labor union are demanding improved working conditions. Previous USAC-CGT ATC strikes have particularly affected Paris-Orly (ORY), Paris-Beauvais (BVA), and Marseille-Provence (MRS) airports.
Flight cancellations and delays, as well as diversions to nearby major airports, could extend for several hours beyond the end of the strike as operators reposition aircraft and work through passenger backlogs.
Contact airlines to confirm flight status if booked to fly via airports in France Nov. 19-21. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Arrive at the airport early to prevent your seat from being allocated to a standby passenger.
