Spain: Demonstrations reported in cities nationwide Nov. 6
Protests reported at Socialist Party buildings in cities across Spain Nov. 6. Heightened security reported.
As of the evening of Nov. 6, activists are protesting at Socialist Party (PSOE) headquarters in a number of major cities across Spain to denounce Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's proposed amnesty for Catalan separatists. It is unclear how long gatherings will last. Demonstrators have gathered at the following PSOE locations, among others:
Barcelona: 191 Calle de Pallars
Madrid: 70 Calle de Ferraz
Murcia: 13 Calle Princesa
Oviedo: 20 Calle Santa Teresa de Jesus
Seville: 37 Calle San Vicente
Tarragona: 57 Avenida de Ramon y Cajal
Valencia: 1 Calle del Hospital
Valladolid: 19 Calle de Santa Lucia
Zaragoza: 138 Calle Conde de Aranda
Heightened security is reported, and transport disruptions are likely near demonstration sites. Though unlikely, low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the affected areas as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near demonstrations. Strictly follow all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
