Increased security, localized transport disruptions, and evacuations are almost certain in Rockcastle County, KY, as of Nov. 23 due to an emergency response following a chemical spill and fire resulting from a freight train derailment. Reports indicate that on the afternoon of Nov. 22, 16 rail cars derailed, two containing molten sulfur, causing a subsequent fire. This led to the evacuation of the towns of Livingston and Piney Branch, with a state of emergency declared. As of the morning of Nov. 23, at least 50% of the fire has been contained.

Officials may expand or rescind the evacuation area or impose road closures on short notice to facilitate the emergency response.
