Warning

Opposition activists affiliated with the Citizens Opposition Bloc (Bloque de Oposicion Ciudadana, BOC) plan to march in San Pedro Sula starting at 14:00 Dec. 9. The purpose of the demonstration is to condemn the national government's policies. The event is part of a series of protests that have occurred over recent weeks in different cities.

Demonstrators will gather at 3ra Avenida near the Keymart before marching to the Parque Central. It remains unclear how many participants the event may draw; however, a large crowd is possible. The march will likely prompt transport disruptions along its route; heightened security is also likely.

As a precaution, avoid the area impacted by the demonstration. Allow additional time to reach destinations if operating in central San Pedro Sula into the early evening of Dec. 9.
