Spain: Platform control tower worker strike at Madrid–Barajas Airport Dec. 31-Jan. 7

Platform control tower workers at Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD) represented by the UGT union plan to strike Dec. 31-Jan. 7. The strike is in response to various disputes. The strike coincides partly with a nationwide baggage handler's strike Jan. 5-8.

Disruptions to airport operations, including flights, are possible during the strike period. Should the strike persist for the full period the impact of the action could be exacerbated by the planned baggage handlers action Jan. 5-8.
