Members and supporters of the Turkish Youth Union (TGB) will hold a protest march in Adana on Dec. 30 to denounce the presence of US bases in Turkiye and the expansion of NATO. The TGB is also calling for the seizure of the US bases by Turkish authorities. Participants will gather in Ugur Mumcu Square in central Adana around 14:00 before marching eastward to Incirlik Air Base, which hosts US and other NATO forces. Although attendance levels are unclear, organizers have called on youth organizations from multiple other cities to support the gathering.

Heightened security and transport disruptions are likely along the route used by the demonstrators and near Incirlik Air Base on the rally date. Clashes between demonstrators and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.

Avoid all demonstrations as a precaution. Avoid the vicinity of Incirlik Air Base as a precaution on the afternoon of Dec. 30. Allow additional time to reach destinations in central and eastern Adana during the protest. Strictly heed all instructions of authorities. Leave the area at the first sign of any security disturbance.
