Egypt: Scheduled water outages to occur in Heliopolis, Nasr City, and 10th district of Cairo, from 10:00 to 23:59 Jan. 20

Scheduled water outages to affect some areas of Cairo, Egypt, from 10:00 to 23:59 Jan. 20; business disruptions possible.

Informational

The Cairo Drinking Water Company announced the scheduled suspension of water distribution in some areas of Heliopolis, Nasr City, and the 10th district of Cairo from 10:00 to 23:59 on Jan. 20. Authorities have called on citizens, authorities, businesses, and hospitals to plan for their water needs during the affected period. Drinking water trucks will be available in the affected areas. The outage is due to the rerouting of a water line in front of the Military College on Abdul Hamid Badawi Street.

Business disruptions are possible, especially for companies that rely on large quantities of municipal water. Essential services, including hospitals and health facilities, could experience disruptions due to water cuts.

Minimize nonessential use of water until supplies normalize. Confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Prepare for business disruptions in the affected areas of Cairo through Jan 20. Pressure and water quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water.
