Unionized educators plan to hold a protest march in central Paris from 14:00 Jan. 15. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce the planned closure of preparatory classes at some Parisian high schools. Participants will gather at Place de la Sorbonne from 13:00 before departing at 14:00 towards the Ministry of National Education (Rue de la Grenelle). The planned march route was not immediately clear. It is unknown how many participants may attend.
Heightened security and transport disruptions are likely along the march route. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and frustrated motorists cannot be ruled out.
