Activists to protest in Brussels, Belgium, and Bordeaux, Lyon, Grenoble, Strasbourg, and Toulouse in France, evening of Nov. 14.

Warning

Activists plan to protest in Brussels and at least five French cities in the evening of Nov. 14. The purpose of the demonstrations is to demand the release of longtime prisoner Georges Abdallah. It was not immediately clear how many participants may attend. Demonstrations are planned in the following locations:

  • Brussels: Protest at French Consulate on Boulevard du Regent from 18:30.

  • Bordeaux: Protest at City Hall on Place Pey Berland from 18:00.

  • Grenoble: Protest at Tribunal de Grenoble on Place Firmin Gautier from 18:00.

  • Lyon: March from Place des Terreaux from 19:00.

  • Strasbourg: Protest at Place Broglie from 18:00.

  • Toulouse: Protest at Metro Jeanne d'Arc from 18:30.

Police will likely deploy to monitor all demonstrations. Associated road closures may cause travel disruptions near protest sites. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers, frustrated motorists, or opposed individuals cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the affected areas as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near any protest sites. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
