Increased security will likely remain in place in Istanbul's Esenyurt borough through at least the end of Jan. 22 as police continue their investigation into a stabbing attack that left 11 people injured. According to authorities, the assailant targeted the victims at random. There have been no reports of fatalities in the incident; however, two of the victims suffered severe injuries. The suspect was captured by police by 20:00; authorities have made no statement with regard to a possible motive for the attack.
Allow additional time if traveling in Esenyurt. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers.
